The Tiger Hockey Team will be coached by Tiger Alum, Spencer Sorensen

The Fremont Tigers High School Hockey team is ready to hit the ice for an exciting 21-22 season and with that we are excited to announce a new head coach.  Tiger Alum Spencer Sorensen will lead the Tigers as they battle their way through another great season.

Sorensen, a 2020 graduate of the Tigers program, brings a very notable playing career to the Tigers team as well as a wealth of coaching knowledge.  Sorensen played for the Tigers from 2016-2020 and played a huge role for the Tigers during that time and even served as an assistant captain his junior year and team captain during his senior year.  Sorensen also appeared two years in a row at the Omaha Hockey High School All Star Game and led the Tigers in goals his junior year and assists his senior year.

Most recently Sorensen joined the Fremont Flyers and Tigers coaching staff during the 20-21 season where he served as head coach to the Fremont Flyers Bantam House/Select program and Assistant Coach of the Tigers.

"Spencer is a great example of how our program has come full circle," said Angie Wyle, Sidner Ice Arena Director, and Fremont Flyers Board Member.  "It's amazing to me to see a young kid who played in our organization grow into a well-rounded young man and give back to the program that built him in this way.  Spencer did an amazing job with our Flyers Bantam and Tigers teams last year and we are extremely excited to appoint him to this role.  I believe he has a very bright coaching career ahead of him and he embraces the true spirit of our program."

"We are very excited to have Spencer's experience and knowledge lead the Tigers into this season," commented Garrett Poland Hockey Director.  "We believe Spencer is a great fit for this position and we can't wait to see the Tigers excel under his guidance," Poland continued.

"I've had the opportunity to play for some amazing coaches during my career with the Flyers and the Tigers and I'm looking forward to incorporating all that I've learned from them into this position.  I thoroughly enjoyed my first year of coaching and am excited to lead this Tigers team into victory this season," commented Sorensen.

The Tigers will officially kick off their season with practices the week of October 4th.  Please stay tuned to our Facebook and website for more information on upcoming games!
