In addition to helping at the arena, the role would also act as the association’s Growth and Development Director, a new requirement of USA Hockey.

Fremont Ice Association (FIA), in partnership with new Sidner Ice Arena operator SETT, LLC announced a new full-time position to support not only ice operations but assist in hockey operations for FIA.

This position will report directly to the Arena Director, Angie Wyle, and will serve under SETT LLC and the Fremont Ice Association Board of Directors.

“For a couple years now, Sidner Ice Arena and FIA have gotten by with part-time help on the arena side, and a set of volunteer dads and parents on the hockey operations side, which we are grateful for and still will need,” said Warren Peters, FIA President. “With the partnership of SETT, LLC and the continued growth of FIA, we both saw a need to help with both arena operations, on-ice logistics and hockey administrative aspects behind-the-scenes.”

In addition to helping with Sidner Ice Arena operations, the role would also act as the association’s Growth and Development Director, a new requirement of USA Hockey.

“The board is excited to have a role to help the arena director, but also be the face of the program,” Peters said. “They will act as tournament director as we grow in that area, and manage the learn-to hockey and mite programs that Fremont is renowned for.”

Wyle will maintain her Arena Director role as well as FIA duties of registrar and helping with compliance. With the arena continuing to host more and more weekends, FIA growing, and new USA Hockey requirements, the association, thanks to SETT LLC, is poised to now have a hockey director. The association used to have various Hockey Director roles over the years, but as the YMCA transitioned out of operating the arena, and away from hockey, there has been a void until SETT stepped in.

“With the stability of our arena partner and their dedication to hockey, we’re lucky to be able to hire this position,” said Jason Buzzell, FIA Vice President. “There’s so much stuff behind-the-scenes we are required to track and do, in addition to the on-ice practices, games, scheduling, the hockey director is critical to our sustainability of the program on and off the ice, as well as the ice arena moving forward.”

Candidates can apply by sending their resume and cover letters to information@fremontflyers.org or reaching out to board members.
