The Fremont Flyers hockey program recommends several different opportunities for your child to experience hockey.  Below are the different options offered at Sidner Ice Arena with our Arena Partners.

The Sidner Ice Arena is excited to offer another season of Intro to Hockey! This year, we're revamping the program to offer a better over-all experience for your child!

Is your child interested in learning the basic skills to play hockey? Would you like the opportunity for your child to try hockey before committing to a league? If you answered yes to either of these questions then Intro to Hockey is the perfect program for you. This 8 week program teaches kids the necessary skating, stick handling, shooting and passing skills needed to participate in the sport of hockey. Once your child has completed one session, our coaches and directors will be happy to help you decide whether your child is ready to participate in the league or continue to take Intro to Hockey classes.

Cost: $160 per session (8 wks)

• Open to any youth ages 4-12
• All equipment is provided for those in need
• The class will be limited to 40
• For those needing gear, please email us- angiewyle@fremontflyers.org to set up a time to check out gear
• Class times - Mondays 5:15-5:45pm (please have child ready for on-ice activity at 5:15)
• Dates - October 28, Nov 4, 11, 18, 25, Dec 2, 9, 16 
• Structure- The first 3 sessions will work on skating skills and edgework. Weeks 4-7 will incorporate basic hockey skills such as stick handling, shooting, passing and more. Week 8 will conclude with a hockey game!

Is your player ready to take the next step in hockey?  The Fremont Flyers hockey program offers something for everyone.  Players as young as 4 and as old as a Senior in high school can enroll in the Fremont Flyers Program.

Fremont Flyers Age Divisions

• Mite (8/6 & under)
• Squirt (10 & under)
• PeeWee (12 & under)
• Bantam (14 & under)
• High School (9th-12th grade)
