The Fremont Flyers HS Travel Team will be holding a player evaluation skate on Tuesday, March 14 from 7-8pm at the Sidner Ice Arena.  Any High School Eligible player for the 23-24 Hockey season and interested in playing on the Flyers Midwest HS Travel team are encouraged to attend.

Information about the Fremont Flyers High School Travel Team-

The high school program competes in the MidWest High School League against teams in Iowa, Kansas, and Nebraska.  There is both a JV and Varsity team and each team plays a 32-game regular season schedule, 16  home games, and 16 away games each. At the conclusion of the regular season, the top 8 Varsity teams advance to the Midwest High School Championship tournament and the top 6 JV teams also advance.  The Fremont HS Travel program competes in the top Tier 2 league in the Midwest and is a pipeline to players that have aspirations of playing hockey at the AAA level, in juniors, or in college.

For logistics, the team travels on a charter bus to away games that are more than 90 minutes away.  Hotels (2 players per room) and dinners are included and the Fremont program is run very much like a AAA or junior program in this regard.

The budget for the 2022-23 season was under $4000, additional numbers for our JV and Varsity teams will reduce the cost for every family.  (Remember to include your travel costs over the last few years as you compare the costs of High School vs Bantams)  

Over the summer, the Fremont program will have an optional weekly skate for all HS-eligible players.  We are also planning an identification skate in March to give feedback and reduce the stress of tryouts.  Know that the Fremont HS program will be committed to the retention of players within the organization and is dedicated to their advancement.

About the Coach- Jeff Williams-

Jeff grew up in the Omaha area playing hockey in the Midwest High School league.  He has been coaching hockey for over 20 years in the Omaha area.  The Williams family has been a part of the Omaha AAA  and Omaha Lancers billet program for many years and continues to support hockey across the Midwest region.
